 Well guys - the Mud has been up and down like a yo-yo. Server hardware has been replaced, the Operating system has been upgraded/re-installed.
Hopefully the new hardware will stop interfering with our hosting provider's network.
If you guys ever need fax/email services be sure to check out aircom's "faxpipe" product.

The weekend of Dec. 3 (precise date and time will be posted later) BlackMUD will experience what is commonly called a "pwipe". For you newer players, what this means is that ALL characters in the game are deleted and everyone starts anew. The need for one is overwhelming.

| We have upgraded the Homepage. There was a period of about 24 hours during which we had disabled the Forums, but forgot to disable creating new accounts. If you created an account during that time you will likely have to recreate it.
Please notify us immediately if you notice any problems with the Homepage.

Since the current player file has been in place for over two years now, that traumatic, yet thrilling time has come again. In a few weeks BlackMUD will experience what is commonly called a "pwipe". For you newer players, what this means is that ALL characters in the game are deleted and everyone starts anew. Though some have lobbied against one, the need for one is overwhelming. This will NOT be BlackMUD 2, however it will be BlackMUD v2.0. Sorry, but we ran out of reasonable version numbers below 2.0. BlackMUD 2 v1.0 is still progressing and will be utilizing everything in the BlackMUD v2.0 code base.

 All outstanding changes to the BM1 baseline have been merged into the BM2 baseline. This allows for a more aggressive progression of BM2 development.
The new B2 movement system has been implemented. It will take some getting used to. Rather than just 'lagging' movement, movement is pulsed dependent on the terrain type and other factors.
It will take time for a character to traverse certain rooms. During this time the character CAN use other commands and even change direction.
